Shallow

Shallow

A Poem by Christina

In your world I sink no further
than each step I took,
and I keep walking, just hoping
to drown in what isn't there to see.

I've been drowning in my own thoughts,
 searching for common ground,
and when I looked to you for closure,
shallow water is all I found.

To see the world in black and white is a waste just like you,
but to find happiness in meaning,
reassurance is seemingly rare in feeling,
and those who take the time to feel are few.
