Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning

A Poem by MandarinOranges

These days are slowly getting longer

but they don't seem to take away

any of the lonely nights.

These days that are growing brighter

never shed any light

into the darkened shadows of my life.

With the snow melting,

the tides are rising,

but I fear I shall not drown

in the raging floods

but rather my own salty tears.

Winter fading away into Spring,

but  this newfound warmth

still can not touch

the inches of ice that

encompass my heart.
