Festuring Memory

Festuring Memory

A Poem by MandarinOranges

your memory

is a splinter of glass

festering beneath my skin,

fighting against me to get out...

yet it remains, everyday causing me pain

not enough to kill, not enough even to disable

just enough for a muted roar of loss to form inside my head

why don't you pull it out, they often ask of me

they don't understand that insidei try

to squeeze and tweeze it from me

but it seems to deep for me

and now i am stuck with

your memory
