The Hourglass

The Hourglass

A Poem by MandarinOranges
"

like sands in the hour glass, so our the days of our lives..haha..this actually has nothing to do with Days of Our Lives..just someone who is stuck in the days of mine.

"

You are a grain of sand,

One of many,

In the hourglass of my mind.

Why is it you,

Above any other,

Should cling to this memory of mine?

You refuse to fall through the crack,

To let well enough alone,

To be forgotten.

Is it I who

holds you here,

Unable to let you go?

Regradless,

You are begining to

Erode my senses.

I can no longer fathom

A means to

Shake myself further apart.

A way to rid my brain

Of your everlasting presence,

To dislodge you from my thoughts.

I have attempted time and time again

Over many years

To free you from my mind;
To no avail.

You are forever embedded in me~

Destined to ware me down.
