common collectionA Poem by other_As with everything....a work in progressOne enters to be met with a greeting of warm festivity
Sweaters and champagne keep the guests cordial and engaged
Small chatter drifts from greeting to greeting interlaced with light smiles and hugs
Lover's and friends mingle, as they gaze the decoration.
Displayed triumphantly on the mantel a focal collection and pride of our gracious host: --the hearts of lovers past
Small, glass boxes gleaming with distinction cast the flickering light from the fire below
Arranged by degree of atrophy --yet with keen consideration to decor
Stacked with purpose so that each viewer may indulge on the definition of derision
Each heart struggles; floating aimlessly in dispair
One must certainly notice the hearts of yellow: distinct, with ghastly blue veins coarsing throughout
As well as the collection of blues: cobalt, azure, navy each uniquely cold and callous
Spread throughout are the deprecating hearts of black and red choking writhed with misery and disease
A collection spanning a lifetime One has many questions and quandaries But now is not the time for the bell has wrung tis time for tea.
