Charades

Charades

"

the playful dance

Charades,

We are very good at them

aren't we.

I laugh, you laugh

A quick glance

followed by a smile

playfully hidden by your shoulder

but fully revealed

 in your eyes.

If love was only defined

by that most tantalizing

little flutter of the heart.

How i wish life

could be a stage,

where we could always be

in character

costumes and makeup

clear intentions

Exposing the soul

in performance for

for our audience

 of one

But life is not a stage

and our charades

only allow me

to further mask

my surmounting imperfections

and shortcomings

So, it is to these charades

that I give my gratitude.

For it is through

these charades

that I am able experience

what only has been

described to me

as love
