Sparks and Brooding

Sparks and Brooding

A Chapter by otaku-chan

Her words haunt me, I am victim to my mind, retelling her questions; hers raise my own about Syndicate Three. Why couldn't she leave her room? She wasn't lying to be nice, to make me go away; her surprise was genuine and couldn't be faked so easily.
Her firm insistence that I leave bothers me as well. What lies behind the doors she came bursting out of so frantically? What secretive going-ons happen behind shut doors around here?
Although what she said, her insistence and anger, cause me pain, I still wonder what has happened to her....
The air around this Syndicate is different from the one that I come from- this place is quiet and subdued, like a room filled with people who know they will come face to face with death. You know it's going to happen and that nothing can stop it, the only choice is to wait and see how it looks when the smoke clears. They are all "hush hush" on death row.
