I view the world through a pencil

through pictures and pages of books

in music and lyrics the world is a lie

and since I'm naive

I believe

I live in betrayal and hatred

and no one exists on my side

I cry when alone 

but nobody knows

so inside

I'll live when I die

they keep me numb with a drug

a lie and the taste of a pill

"Swallow it down

Don't puke it up"

With the swing of the rope

I hang

"Just let me die" I will scream

But still they won't let me fall

"You'll enjoy life"

They say when I cry

and tonight

they've kept me alive

they keep the moon in my eye

unfocused not living am I

I live half awake

just watching the stars

who will speak to me

in my mind

the things I see are not real

their lies make me think about dreams

those dreams come alive

and curse me to life

the nightmares

don't live in just sleep

I live life with half open eyes

blind with realities lies

they say it's all love 

the times that I cry

hurting me beyond

recognition

death has a sweet embrace

softly enclosing not breathing

it's almost like sleeping

the one that comes creeping

to lead me 

straight into his realm

i'm sorry if it doesn't flow well in place, this was one of the first poems I've done

Poetry doesn't need to rhyme or flow necessarily. It's a fluid ramble of sorts. When you feel nothing but word vomit and there's nowhere to let it out....it's called word art. I appreciate your thoughts. Thank you for sharing.
