What if?A Poem by CarnationWhat if one was not taught to love?
What if one was not taught to love
But to just sit there and watch it happen What if one was not taught to speak up She'd never be heard nor happy What if one was not taught to care But to stare aimlessly at the clouds What if one was not taught to laugh She'd just be caught in the crowd What if one was not taught to remember But to forget all the good times spent What if one was not taught to cry She'd live her life full of resent If one was not taught to love or speak up If one was not taught to care or laugh If one was not taught to remember or cry It wouldn't be living, even half One's got to learn these things While they're still young 'Cos if one doesn't know these things Let's just say their last song has been sung © 2013 CarnationAuthor's Note
