TEACHING NATURE HOW TO JIVE

TEACHING NATURE HOW TO JIVE

A Poem by R J Askew
"

They say we are out of step with nature... But hey, we can fix everything, right? Yo! Can do! Yes sir!

"

Express yourself

You can!

Watch my feet

Get this right and...

Latest Sony PS yours

Choice of games

Grand Theft Auto, yours

Isn't that worth dancing for?

So says cool young man to old nature's face

Remove yourself to country mind away

Relaxation rose knows around oak door

A month of nothing loving emptiness

No people, only poems in your head

Sun swimming in your clear chalk stream of life

You are your heron, watching patiently

As to the mill you take your sack of words

To mill, to mill into a fruity bread

Remove yourself to country mind away

Relaxation rose knows around oak door

This will not do!

This is not me

For I am Man

And lust to win

Must win win, win win, win win

Dance!

Dance

Dance, step, one step, two step, cha-cha, cha

Be natural, like me

O Man! I cannot get in step with you

Cannot, cannot, you feet  -- they move so fast

Dance!

DANCE!

One step, two step

Watch me

Watch my feet

Money, sex, power, more

Money, sex, power, more

O Man! My feet are sore

My feet are sore, are sore

I know a field where you can hay with dreams

Please...

My feet! they are Al Gore

Nature, Nature

Don't you want to dance like me?

Like me

Love me!

O yes! love me, love me, love me more and more

Me!

Love Me!

Nay, why are you looking at me like that?

Functionality issues?

Seems like everybody wants the best of both worlds and by doing so, we are bound to get adverse effects like the ones I get visions of after reading your poem.
And now I am stuck, looking at the visualisations of dancing trees that seemed to have entered my head.
Well, after watching the two part documentary about Stephen Fry over the last two weeks ... maybe we need come to the conclusion that being bipolar is not such a bad thing in this crazy world!

Reminds me that we can't stand not to have the best of technology and silence.

I have to say the nod to Al Gore was distressing as I thought of him dancing and us not keeping up... :-)

Well done!!

This is a vey good contribution on poetry text, marked by a tendency to find and call attention to errors and flaws on society. This corporalization, the loss of moral values, we feel it everywhere. Is this the end of everything, things just keep getting worse. Nobody speaks about this manipulation of individuum which is happening every second for it is hidden, it just is. Aren't we just followers more than creators? Who makes up his own mind? Count them! This poem is drastically smashing the truth into my face of the state being a follower a listener; and when they meet another person who swims against the stream, they feel confused. Very good piece of work. Loved it!!
