Under the MaskA Poem by Hannah EricksonThis is actually a song that I wrote in 2003.I'm sitting all alone Trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. No one's talking to me. Few even know my name.
Will this ever go away? Please tell me I'm just going through a phase.
I am hiding in my skin. I can't reveal the girl within. Even I don't know what's under the mask I wear. Someone, please help me. I'm sinking lower into despair Can you save me from what's under the mask I wear?
People pass me by. Some just stare and ask me why I am crying I'm drowning in a sea of... Confusion, Illusions, And so much more.
Am I not good enough for you. Can't you see that I'm so blue.
I am hiding in my skin. I can't reveal the girl within. Even I don't know what's under the mask I wear. Someone, please help me. I'm sinking lower into despair Can you save me from what's under the mask I wear?
All the fun and games- They have passed away. Confusion Illusions Have taken their place.
Will this ever go away? Please tell me I am going through a phase.
