This is actually a song that I wrote in 2003.

I'm sitting all alone

Trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

No one's talking to me.

Few even know my name.

 

Will this ever go away?

Please tell me I'm just going through a phase.

 

I am hiding in my skin.

I can't reveal the girl within.

Even I don't know what's under the mask I wear.

Someone, please help me.

I'm sinking lower into despair

Can you save me from what's under the mask I wear?

 

People pass me by.

Some just stare and ask me why

I am crying

I'm drowning in a sea of...

Confusion,

Illusions,

And so much more.

 

Am I not good enough for you.

Can't you see that I'm so blue.

 

I am hiding in my skin.

I can't reveal the girl within.

Even I don't know what's under the mask I wear.

They have passed away.

Confusion

Illusions

Have taken their place.

Great lyrical piece/poem, everyone hides behind their mask at sometime in their lives

especially trying to put on a facade of happiness when we are so very distraught and blue~

Fantastic write! Deep and intimate the search of who you have been and are.

My favorite lines are:

-- I am hiding in my skin.

-- I can't reveal the girl within.

-- Even I don't know what's under the mask I wear

These lines strangely resemble my own piece 'I miss myself'
