Dear broken heart

Dear broken heart

A Chapter by Dean

Dear broken heart,

You darling broken heart how I envy you,

You have known love and have been there so close…

You have held it close to your chest and felt that heart beat

In the chest of the one you seemed to adore so much

You darling broken heart how I envy you,

Having felt the blood whoosh in her lovely veins,

How I long for that sound, for that taste, for that smell…

You have known love in the purest way… I have not but once.

I never got to hold her in my long, pale arms,

And I never had the chance to sprinkle stars in her hair.

All I had the privilege to do is watch her sleep every night,

And fight off the nightmares as they came storming into her.

You darling broken heart, how I pity you.

The sound of your heart shattering made me cringe,

Look away ashamed and try to forget that melody.

The pain in your eyes and the tears on your cheek pushed me away,

No more pain, I vowed to keep that to me.

I tried every remedy I could think of,

And I emptied bottles inside my skin…

My body kept hurting and I had to keep her safe.

One of the last letters, one of the last times I shall hurt…

I apologize for all that I hurt you.

Most lovingly and adoringly yours,

Dean.

The lost guardian.

You're very remorseful. It's a nice poem, very emotional.
