More than all the hours

Slumped over the books you 

Binge upon only to regurgitate 

The very same information 

Hopefully spit up 

Preserved in perfect condition 

From inside an over tired body 

An overtired mind

That's living on cannabis and coffee

You are more. 

You are man

 In a bear suit 

Hasn't seen his three best friends in a while

In too long 

Just a guy who needs a shower

And yet he appreciates time enough 

To pause to hear the Universe beating 

To it's ancient heart like a drum 

It's no surprise that you're missing the sunlight 

It's no surprise 

That you like to eat breakfast foods past midnight 

Just like everybody else in L.A. 

But you are more. 

What you are is not 

Dependent on any number 

Not valued by 

How long it takes you to get there

You are there 

Riding metrolink 

At inconceivable speed

This life is 

Nothing but 
The most infuriating journey 

Though no one is getting a first class

Entirely 

And you say like traveling 

So I know that this hole in your heart 

Right now

Won't split you through and through 

That 

You were born for this, 

Tasting the bitterness

That is setbacks

And the sweetness that is 

Discovering Jeff 

The bear

The Jew

Braving it all with joy
