When The Sun Comes Up

When The Sun Comes Up

A Poem by R.E.K.
"

try again today

"
When the sun comes up
My eyes caked with make up
You wash off all my mistakes
Tell me that it's okay
That I can try again
That mortal is a man
That we all hide inside the crowd
Our heads buried in the sand
But we can try again
Baby you can try again

When the sun comes up
Rays touch the trace of tears
I slept with all my fears
But you're telling me to wake up
Darling, you can break up
With all of your worthless
Live your life with purpose
Now pour a cup of tea
You say
 "Come and talk to me,
Baby when the sun comes up."

When the sun comes up
Let the light
Warm the wood on the floor
Guide your eyes to the door
Let the water in the shower sparkle
Just like your eyes
You say
"I've renewed you every single time
When the sun comes up."

I remove all the labels I've labeled myself with
The light of dawn helps me to make breakfast
I'll be a new person
One who is worth it
When the sun comes up....
