Harder Than It Should Be

Harder Than It Should Be

A Poem by R.E.K.
"

Me and You, We aren't meant to be, but I don't care right now.

"
Your birthday present
sits untouched
in a corner of my room
Your ever rippling eyes
are still hard set on my face
in my dreams
but our destiny
quivers and writhes
away from us
as if we,
as if the sheer idea of us,
is but a disease,
a lost cause,
a cold cancer,
to only breed the insanity
we have already incubated
within ourselves,
please,
why can't I have this one thing?
but then I remember,
I deserve absolutely nothing
of all I have already received
is more
than I could ever be worthy
He showers me with only Good,
only Good.
My gratitude
convulses
at these thoughts of betrayal,
these dreams
of stupidity,
yet somehow.
I can't let go
of this leaking balloon,
of his beautiful eyes,
of us,
of me,
of you.

I am so glad that I came across your poem!
This was such a profound poem that really touched me.
You are an extremely talented writer/author.
Your writing is incredible!
If you want to, could you read my story, "the blonde girl," you don't have to if you don't want to, I just felt like I should share it with you.

Your friend,
