Song of LifeA Poem by Macie Hill (Pseudonym)This idea just popped into my head, hope you like it :)The song of a sapling, our debut in this world Crying and giggling without a care in the world Though possibilities are infinite, days are finite But worry not, a child’s far from that final night The song of a puppy is filled with innocent joy Running and laughing, oh how I envy you boy Enjoy this freedom, for all things have an end Cherish the days that society cannot bend The song of the tide with its mighty ebb and flow So much passion you have, but please take it slow You’re a hurricane, in this tumultuous phase But worry not, there is an end to this maze The song of worry filled with momentous decisions Do not fear failure for the years hold more transitions Listen to your heart and mind, your passion and logic Do not live your life based on others’ rubric The song of harvest, are you glad with your crops? After all those years, you’ve reached the treetops From the canopy, you glimpse a simmering new dawn The new generation to whom you lay love upon The song of satisfaction, oh how your children have grown The success of them make your love and care shown You sit and smile, reminiscing about your own time Your family prospers whilst you wait for the final chime The song of the crow, everyone’s final requiem Your family by your side, your heart a full atrium Success and failure: two sides of one coin All that matters is your family by your side The song of life bears an illusory end The finale heralds a new overture Be grateful and live with ardor Then even Death you will transcend © 2015 Macie Hill (Pseudonym)Author's Note
