DemonsA Poem by Macie Hill (Pseudonym)This poem is based on how I felt during my period of depression. Don't let that stop you from giving honest criticism.Demons You can see me laughing And you can see me joking But something isn’t right Something’s wrong with this sight An emptiness burrows deep Stealing away my sleep A sadness settles within me I live according to its decree “Don’t let people know!” “Never let your thoughts show!” I listen to it without question Lived without expectation For deep down in my heart I thought I will never find the love I sought I know I don’t want a life without love But all my grief I force it in with a shove What used to be on the outside Is now on the inside It eats me from within Like guilt from a sin The one sin that I’m plagued by The sin of telling myself a lie © 2015 Macie Hill (Pseudonym)Featured Review
