A Poem by D.L. Holmes
"

I wrote it about someone that I was really in love with and that my heart still pains out too, but I must never see or hear from again. I love how the subconscious manifest these jaded thoughts o'mine! Summer of 2005

"

for the innocence you've bestowed upon me
i'll give you but a clue
to the whereabouts of the entrails of
the boy that you once knew....
look kind and deep into my eyes
until you start to see...
the flickering of a memory bore deep inside of me...

it starts off on the day i left
and ends with one last call...
with teary eyes
and broken glass
and blood along the wall.
with happiness being ripped from me
and anger in my throat
and at last the decapitation of
my once enchanted soul...

now lost in your tranquility
and my passivity
i fail to see your terror as you run away from me
as you pulled away
you saw a fire
a warm light you once held close...
but with malicious productivity
and the coldness of a ghost...

nowhere to run
nowhere to hide
so i sprint deeply inside...
carrying the last of my light to the place you saw
leaving blackness in my eyes....

now you know a boy lies in this man
cold shivering and scared...
but you're fucked if you think you feel sorry for him
it was you who left him there!
