The good, the bad and the ugly.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

A Poem by Onlyme

The good, the bad and the ugly
is starting to shine through
with this Corona Virus
that is affecting my Country.

On Facebook and on local area
online sites people
are signing up to help the elderly, vulnerable
and folk in their areas who are less fortunate and in need
of support friendship and proper aid.

And on the other side
selfish people are going crazy in the major
superstores stocking up on Toilet Paper, Milk, Meat and tinned
goods and alcohol. And stripping the stores bare.

We live in a society that still cares.

Even though the majority are still just out for themselves.

Don't lose hope or faith in humanity.

As not everyone is the same.

Their is still human beings who care for others.

As for the government looking out for you it's the local
caring ordinary person around you who cares
more and will stand up
for you long term.

Just like in the disaster movies.

The rich, big businesses and governments are just out for
themselves and their own families. At large.

Maybe cynical but true.

Not cynical, Dawn. This is true in the US, too. Such crises bring out predators, prey and thankfully the protectors. I must say I'm pleasantly surprised so many American businesses (like major league sports teams) have canceled games and seasons, even at risk of losing millions of dollars. Frankly, it's uncharacteristic for major American companies, and it's good to see the honor.

You present an honest depiction of this experience here and abroad. Thank goodness we have good neighbors, most everywhere we travel. Humanity is the last and best hope. Good write, Dawn.

Many many horrid inhumane mistakes were made during these last few years and I dare say the govt will repeat it all over again given half the chance they did not learn from their mistakes they do not care

'the good the bad and ugly'
Dawn,
Yea, I get it! So much became transparent during this time. How people chose to navigate this Covid period was pretty interesting. I don't know maybe transparent is not the right word. I think your right. Caring is what matters. finding ways to leave a gift of food at another's door, a phone call. A challenging time. This was a reminder of how things can change.Thank you for this good poem.

Dawn, thankfully there are still those that DO care for others, more than for themselves. Unfortunately, the media gives more attention to the trolls of society instead of the quiet angels giving their help where and when it's needed. Don't give up hope, see the good and try to ignore the worse that you see about.

Take care - Dave

yes, we can only count on each other during this crisis...government is feigning caring...but how much do they and how much is for political gain in the end.
There may be no one left to vote if we aren't vigilant.
strong write here.
