We all need each other

We all need each other

A Poem by Onlyme

Someone like you can save
another soul.

With just a simple smile.
A friendly word
Or even just a hug.

No one is an island.

No one is uncaring totally.

Even the most harden criminal
can be brought to tears.
By someone who does not even
know them.

But just been shown a simple
act of kindness towards them
and someone not giving up on
them totally.

We all need each other.

This is true it’s quite beautiful
When I was growing up and everyone had land lines mum who was an angel in disguise would get calls from her friends and sometimes be on the phone for hours consoling one or more people with their troubles with just a listening ear and a warm heart that always put all others needs including us her family above her own needs
Nowadays there is no time we all work have busy lives and a quick text or hi in f b or sending a meme or happy good morning message.
In fact I prefer the old days without the internet lol
I liked your poem
Hope you are well xx

"No man is an island unto himself." This is especially true today. We would like to think we are all so independent but the truth is more than ever we need one another. It is, as you said, amazing how far a kind word can go. What a little positiveness can do to make someones" day.

Take care - Dave

Welcome brother
and poets especially need each other...we often have no one else, and are so misunderstood...
but writers have that place in their hearts for other writers...some don't but are they really writers in the true sense, poets in the true sense?
with each other's support...islands connect.

Yes Dawn, we all need to care for each other. If not, it could spell disaster.
