Where is the love?

You can be with someone

a very long time

and you never actually

full comprehend

what they are really like.

You only see,

a part of who they really are.

And fool yourself

into believing they are

great and nice.

Let alone caring.

But when disaster happens

and you need their love

and true support.

That is when you really see

and found out

who they really are.

Mean and selfish

and all about them.

And they don't even realize

you needed them to support you

during that very bad time you are

actually having just now.

I saw this with a close friend of mine.

Been with her partner for a good number

of years.

Her kids all grown up

and left the nest.

And just her with her man.

She took seriously ill

And he just basically left her to it.

To struggle with treatment,

and after recovering on her very own.

Only real help she got was from her

kids and family.

Where was he the lover?

this partner her man.

Nowhere,

just in bed sleeping most nights

fast soundly asleep.

And during the day working

and keeping his pennies for all himself

not contributing towards the home

at all.

And anytime needed for

support

love or compassion.

Nowhere to be seen

or found or heard off.

That is not a real man

or partner

that is a very selfish

mean singular person

indeed.

She deserves so much better.

i keep telling her to get rid.

But she is soft-hearted just like me.

But no fool to see

she is being used and abused

by such a mean guy as him.

He has shown his true colours

and they not nice at all.

Where is the love?

He cares about his dogs

and about his daughter from another marriage.

But he does not care about her at all.

Shamefully heartbreaking and upsetting me so.

Wish i could wave a magic wand and sort

her life out and make her happy.

this is so heartbreaking...often we see in our partners only what we want to see, and block out the negatives...we love the idea of someone...not knowing what is deep inside, but that eventually comes out...and then we are totally blindsided.

and yet there are others...like my best friend in college...never cared much for her husband...she and i lost touch for so many years...i was so sad about that, but somehow finally tracked her down and called...got her husband...who was actually her ex...and found out that she had ALS and died from that...and even though they were divorced, he took her in and cared for her until the end.
that is love...and caring.

Horrible how some people just don’t have it in them, or at least, only for some people. Wish it could be different. When I’m older, I want to be with people who are happy to have me. I guess everyone has their problems. And there are too many to fix.
