The real you....

The real you....

A Poem by Onlyme

If the mask fits
and makes you fake happiness.

And you don't mind wearing it.

Keep it on.

And fool everyone
including yourself.
MORE SO.

But one day you will wish
you took it off
and just became real FOR yourself.

Masks do have that tendency to slip askew at just the wrong moment ...sigh.

True, true and so true. Be real or you will end up with a raw deal.

Too many people have lost themselves these days. The internet has provided 'a mask' like none other in all history. People can connect instantly, yet hide who they truly are and even become a completely different person. This poem is so true, a life lived under false pretenses is one destined for regrets.
