You're more than worth it.

You're more than worth it.

A Poem by Onlyme

Being soft-hearted and having a nice disposition
gets you confused with some human beings.

As they see that is a sign of weakness.
Thinking they can take advantage of your
kindness and good nature in general.

And think you will put up with any behaviour from them.

But they don't realize.
There does come a time
in a kind souls personality they
will learn to stand up for themselves
and speak out and declare.
No more. liberties to be taken from YOU.
At their expense anymore for them
the abuser.

As they have learnt to stand up for themselves
more and have the confidence to speak out.
And to NOT  just accept that behaviour no more
from anyone.

I have been that person in the past.
Too soft for my own good in my character.
And I have learnt from experience and difficult times
with people. You have to stand up for yourself.
Or they will just keep coming back and walking
right over you. As they will as you let them.

So remember your own self-worth, respect and value.
And speak out for YOU.

And don't let anyone walk over you.
Have self-respect and value and love
for you now.

You're more than worth it.

As if you don't it will just keep happening to you.

more prose than poetry, but a really important theme, well expressed...with some force.
