The Player

He gives of the impression

he is a really nice guy.

Caring, sweet and thoughtful.

But underneath his is a cheat

a liar and user.

He stockpiles his girlfriends

and lovers.

He even has a "big black book" he
keeps their names and numbers in.

And the days he actually

sees them too.

So he does not get mixed up

or even forget who is who on

which day and why?

He does it cause he loves the buzz

the feeling of being wanted and needed

and loved. He is addicted to the woman

and the lifestyle. The craziness of it all.

He just can't help himself.

But I pity the poor woman

who thinks and believe his bull.

Because sadly they are being used

and lied to.

Thinking they are the only one

important in his life.

and sadly they are so very wrong

as they are simply NOT.

He will carry on doing his thing

and getting more involved

with them all.

Until maybe one day.

He his found out.

But until then

he is a very happy player

of the woman

and so-called love.

This poem certainly sums up the attitude of so many men and the society that gives them a pat on the back in our day and age. Some men have 3, 4 different baby mamas and brag about it, yet they are broke, irresponsible, relying on government money to look after their responsibilities.
And they make it hard for men like me to prove that, like the Rose 🌹 the sunflower 🌻 and tulip 🌷, we are all different.
I value togetherness, consenting and reciprocal love. I respect the institution of marriage and love-filled and long lasting union.

I know someone like this. It's not always easy to tell who's real and who isn't. That's part of his selfish game I suppose. You've brought out an issue I'm sure most women can relate to.
