The National Health Service is Dying.

The National Health Service is Dying.

A Poem by Onlyme

The National
Health service
is sinking faster
then the Titanic.

So many people
using their facilities
and departments.
It's getting crushed under
the plight and weight
of it all.

Not enough money to keep
the system above water.
It's drowning like a rat.

It did just manage
to last just over
70 years.

Sadly I don't think
it will last another 70,
going by the real
struggles it's having
now.

As the wheels
are falling off.

Waterlogged Hospitals,
building crumbling
around them
who use them.

Not enough beds.
Patients and users
being
unappreciative and
nasty to staff
on a regular bases
Violence even used
at them.

A&E and outpatients
waiting times
beyond a bad joke.

Staff members
not getting paid enough
for a wonderful job they
actually, do.

As well as staff shortages
as no one wants to work in
said place.

Private car parking bays.
Overcharging for tickets.

And the money
not even going back
into the hospital in general.

But into someone private bank account.

How these people should hang their
heads in shame. For making money
off sick and dying people.

But much admiration
and outstanding
Thank you
to the staff
who endure so much
in bad conditions.

The staff who work for the NHS deserve all the praise they get. Sadly the NHS can't be all things to all people. There is huge waste and stuff being dealt with that is cosmetic in my opinion. And to top it all really bad management who have inflated salaries. It needs a major overhaul. And don't speak to me about NHS tourism Dawn or I'll blow a gasket. The NHS is like a black hole, it will consume more and more money. That's my little rant over Dawn. On top of all that it's one of the best things about the UK. Good to read this post. It makes me appreciate what a gem we have.

It is a sad fact that the government don't see fit to support this wonderful institution; i was referred almost a year ago for a replacement hip, and now i need 2 repacements hips and i am still waiting, have been on the urgent list for two and a half months. I can't complain when cancer patients are waiting for months ...
Not enough hospitals, social housing and no wonder we need lots more mental health support... people are suffering needlessly
