Strange But True...

Do people really believe being in a relationship is always rosy

and lovely?

 

I have heard twice now. about two different long term marriages.

Being different and lasting due to understands both have made

between their husband and wife.

One was he had a mistress and came back home every night to his wife.

Until his mistress pregnant and had a child. Then he wanted his

wife to take the child in. And she did. And brought the child up as her

own. And he still saw the mistress, but she didn't have any contact with her kid at all.

And it seemed to work.

The other was a postman married and his wife was a miserable wife.

Didn't like sex. He has a mistress, and every weekend he brought the

mistress to Sunday dinner with his wife. And they all sat down civilized

and calm. All she wanted from her husband, was he came home to her.

And he did and made a life with her. Until he died. And he did.

I guess. I tell these tales. As people seem to have this allusion love and

romance and being married is wonderful and perfect. Sweet and glorious.

Just like in the Mills & Boon Books. When reality you have to work on your

relationship, communicate and give and take. It's hard work like everything

else in life. It does not always come easy for every couple married.

It what you make of it?

I guess also the point of these are they worked on their differences and found

a compromise to make their marriages work. Strange but true.

I guess what you say about marriage not being always rosy is true. But I do believe, in agreement with you, that marriage takes effort, communication and give and take. Love is a two way street. Love is a land worked on by two for true, deep and lasting productivity. The thorns and wild weeds are the problems a couple must uproot together. And the roses 🌹 and lilies are the beauty of such productive land that is love ❤️ worked on by two.

I must admit, I agree with your agrument BlackPrince, eloquently expressed and stated and true. Like anything inlife you have to work at it. No matter what even in marriage and relationships in general. Dawn.

These guys sound like real jerks! I guess I have a hard time seeing how they made their marriages work.
Some of the things wives put up with just angers me I guess. these guys make maleness a hopeless farce. Sorry for the rant.
