Stress

Stress

A Poem by Onlyme

Stress is the number one killer of humans.
How to deal with overwhelming emotions
and situations that affect our wellbeing in
general.
Some people turn to alcohol and drugs addiction
even sex, overeating and starving oneself.
To try to feel in control of their emotions
and their life in general.
So many different types of ways.
Humans turn to deal with the effects
of stress on their mind and body.
The ones above are the bad types of course
to deal with distress and upset and trauma.
Below are good ones,
if done in moderation.
Going to the gym,
swimming, walking, boxing,
keep fit, jogging, going for a run.
Relaxing with a good book,
poetry, writing a story,
expressing yourself in a journal.
Treating yourself to a nice pampering
season.
A  new hair cut, new clothes,
watching a good movie.
Meeting friends,
Chatting to a close friend getting
your emotions out.
Go for a walk in the countryside.
A little drive when it's quite outside.
A relaxing bath.
Taking a snooze
Watching your favourite television show.
Also, review your lifestyle.
Making changes.
Like for example if you work too hard
and long hours. Cut them back.
If you study too hard.
Every day from morning
to night.
Give yourself a much need break for a
day or two.
To chill out and relax.
And give
your brain and body a good rest to rejuvenate.
Use time management techniques to help you daily.
Make a list of things in order of priority that need to be done soon as
and work backwards to less important chores/ jobs needing
done down the list.

Tasks can be grouped into four categories like before for example

  • urgent and important
  • not urgent but important
  • urgent but not important
  • neither urgent nor important
