Merry Christmas One & All.A Poem by OnlymePicture a wonderful winter scene with snowcapped mountaintops. A valley full of little cottages and farmlands, cover in untouched pure white snow. And the sun is bright, in the sky, on a perfectly cloudless day. Birds are sing, their song. Deers are foraging for foods for themselves and their young. A fox scurries across the untouched snow. And leaves a trail of paws and a bushy tail showing he had just been there. An old couple are outside their home, cutting logs of woods for their open fireplace. As their oldest son arrives, with his young family. In tow. Sees them and wave as they drive up to the front door. In their festive covered 4x4 vehicle. Some children are decorating a fir tree outside their home. With ornaments, tinsel and of course a fairy for the top. And their dad is plugging in multi-coloured lights around the home and about toturn it on. Once the tree is finished getting decorated, and the lights added to it too. Festive and full of cheer. To see and watch they work away happy as can be. Someone is dressed as Santa Claus. And a little bit worse for wears. He is tipsy and sings Christmas carols as he staggers up the valley lane. Turns out he was at the local Church hall Christmas Party, and got drunk on the punch after giving out the presents to the local children earlier on today. Ho, ho, ho, and a bottle of rum. Is tucked inside his coat pocket. To help him, keep out the cold, he would say with a smile. Merry Christmas One & All. © 2018 Onlyme |
