Reach out....

Reach out....

A Poem by Onlyme

All you see is gloom and doom,
and never-ending darkness, all around you.

And you feel, so low in emotions.
All you want, to do is cry,
and never stop.
You feel cold and aching,
in both spirit and body.
Your head feels numb and
your brain is disturbed,
 lost and so confused.

You also feel hopelessness and helplessness.
Also maybe irritable and intolerant of people
and want to be on your own. The worse thing
you can do is be alone.

And thinking you just can't get motivated
at all to do the slightest thing
from even getting up to going
to the loo to pee. Or even
to just get dressed or even eat.

Everything is a big effort to want to do
. Let alone do.

Feeling also anxious and distressed. Maybe even
suicidal thoughts entering your head. Of self harming
or even ultimately killing yourself if your depression
is that extreme and bad.

This illness takes lives. And anyone who suffers from
depression will take you.
It's far from understanding and easy to deal with at times.
When your very low and dropping lower and
struggling to feel better in general.

Please reach out. And seek help. No matter what with
your depressed and state of mind, before it's to late.

Someone cares and relates. And you are actually far from alone
as others do understand as they feel it too at times.

We need to pay attention to friends and family. Lead with concern, kindness and listen. We don't know if someone is having a hard time. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Thank you for your thoughts S.Zaynab.
This is a very moving and motivating poetic piece that you have written here. All too relatable too, nicely done all the way through. What is one experience you found yourself at one point seeking help with that has motivated you to the place where you are today?

From the state of our minds to the state of our countries, people can be overwhelmed by it all. Thankfully, there are people like you who share their words of empathy and understanding to let them know they are not alone.
