What a glorious day ahead!

What a glorious day ahead!

A Poem by Onlyme

Misty morning on a winters day.
No one up. As so early.
Streets are deserted and so
beautifully peaceful.
You could hear a pin drop
on the pavement.

The air is cold the mist is like a
little screen in my face.

It lifts and brightens up.
I see a fox scurry past me.
With his big bushy tail up straight.

I think to myself. "Is He reporting back
to the misses, for his early morning
breakfast?".

Then I start to hear,  the early morning
dawn chorus being.
From the local birds in the neighbourhood.

As  the first shards of daybreak,  starts
to lift like the curtains, in your bedroom
being drawn open in the morning.

And shafts of light begin to appear.

I watch the sunrise glow before my eyes.

And I think to myself.
What a glorious day ahead...

As I start to take our dog for a walk
in the local doggie park close to our house.

You transported me to the time and place in your poem with your words. what a wonderful experience it is. I could almost feel the fresh morning air and cool quiet atmosphere. Loved your poem.
You are not only feeling the beginning of a glorious day, you are also getting excercise and quiet time with your pet.

This reminded me of when I was younger and I used ti take my dog out for an early morning walk. It was great having the whole place to ourselves and the peace and quiet was lovely

Thank you George for such a kind thought. bless you Dawn
Beautiful early morning poem Dawn. You took me there. There certainly have been some very special mornings over the last week or so. I have been waking up to blue skies and gold leaves on our silver birch. Glorious. Thank you.

Dawn -
Indeed what a glorious start of your day! I felt as though I were there with you, feeling the cool mist on my face, seeing the first beams of sunlight piercing the sky. Beautifully done.

Take care - Dave

A nice piece of writing....

Simple in presentation and description, your poem gives the reader an insight into the first breaths of your morning. Nicely described and with a hopeful tone throughout; that every day is a glorious day if only we believe in it and embrace it.

Nice work.

This poem is beautiful, and I love the picture painted in my head. Your word choice "I watch the sunrise glow before my eyes" is truly wonderful. I love this.
