Embrace Instead of Hate.

Embrace Instead of Hate.

A Poem by Onlyme

We as humans, come in all shapes and size
and colours on the outside of our skin.

But inside we are all the same.
One beating heart,
One soul,
One spirit.
and one body
and so forth.

So, why do we have to treat each other
so differently because of the colour of
our skin and where we are born?.
Let alone what religion we believe in or not.

Life should be precious and not take for granted
ever. By so many in this vast world.

We should all learn to get on.
And love each other.
As well as value each and everyone in general.

Being so different is what makes the Universe
go around. Embrace it instead of hate.

I will start with something which might sound odd. Niece attends an on-line school. One of her fellow students was born with no eyes. He gets frustrated when someone tries to explain colors to him. He is also an excellent bowler. I think of this, and feel the only reason for him to hate any group is to be taught. That said, I can see him getting irritated by the sounds all around him.

Love the message in your lines Dawn. We don't enter this world with prejudices, we learn them from others. We all need to recognize the value of every single individual regardless of race, colour, creed, gender or disability Much compassion in your words.

Thankyou Chris, that was really lovely to say, hugs Dawn
Dawn- I taught social studies for quite a few years. As far as interracial and inter-religious relationships go I sometimes felt it was my job to unteach somke of the prejudices my students had.

On "Back to School Night" i pointed this out to the parents that came to my class by reciting to them the words from the song from "South Pacific" which spoke to the subject. "You've Got to be Carefully Taught." I won't write the whole thing here, but it ends with this, "you've got to be taught to hate all the people your relatives hate, you've got to be carefully taught."

Take care - Dave

A fine message....

Compassion is something in short supply in this increasingly technologically driven world. In our pursuit of tech advancement and a simplified existence, we have lost touch with the humanity that lies within. We prefer to alienate and judge each other on the basis of the way we look and the morals and beliefs we hold. We should embrace each other with kind and loving hearts more often. Our world would be a better place for it.

A nice, simple write with a profound moral message.
