Swingers Party...

Swingers Party...

A Poem by Onlyme

This was an interesting story for me, because my first husband and I had almost the exact, same experience.
I appreciate that this was, no doubt, hard to write about.
There were many errors, however, in grammar and punctuation, so rather than pick it apart, I copied and pasted the whole thing, then applied the corrections directly.
I hope it helps you.
Here goes:

Henry came home last night and announced that we had been invited to a couples swap party. I was like, "You what? What did you say?"
Henry began to recite what he had said two minutes prior; "We have been invited to a couples swap party."

"And when did this come up, and where?" I asked.
"At Ben's across the street at number 4; I just saw him after I parked the car on the drive. He came over to me, knocking on the glass, and then told me about it. and asked me if we fancied going. I said."Sure, why not."
"It starts at 8 p.m. tonight, just bring a bottle of wine; and your wife, of course," he said.
"Do you fancy going then, Beverly?" Henry asked me.
I thought about it, and said, "Okay," with a laugh, and a wicked grin on my face.

So, we both had a quick dinner; beans on toast, with some coffee.

We started to get ready soon after; casual dress, but smart. Funny, when you think, you are about to shag some stranger, or a neighbour you have known for years and you're worried about what to wear. Ironic, and funny.

So dead at 8 p.m. sharp, we walked across the road, and rang the doorbell. Ben answered the door, and let us in.

We followed him into the living room, where a few couples already were. Some we knew, others we didn't. Bill and Jean from number 22 on our street; lovely couple, young and sweet.Betty and Alex from 54; in their 40's, and lovely doves. And now, us, from number 4.
We all sat and chatted for a bit, to get to know each other a little better, over some canapes and wine, with a little music playing in the background, to help everyone relax more.
Then, it happened.
Ben said, "Everyone put your car keys into this bowl, and then, Patty, my wife, will take a set of keys out, and the owner of these keys chooses a couple, and they swap.
Our turn came when Patty picked Henry's car keys out.
We chose a quiet couple whose names were Linda and Dick. They were in their early 20's. We all went upstairs into a bedroom. Then, the fun began!
I thought Dick was sweet and charming.
Linda was adventurous and kinky, Henry told me later, back in our own home, away from everyone else.
The funny thing is, both Henry and I are actually pretty quiet and reserved, in general. But on an impulse, and by chance, we found more outgoing fun in our mature age. Wink.

with thanks to angel for correcting my mistakes. bless you.

Goodnight, and you're welcome!
this for me is the stuff of fantasy that I don't think I would be brave enough to try plus I am not good at sharing

if this were me I would totally punch a woman in the nose over my guy, if I had one felt strongly about enough I guess

it was a fun read Dawn!

I also thought having beans before a night out was rather brave too :)
