Strawberry Mark..

Strawberry Mark..

A Poem by Onlyme

Her daughter was born with
"A strawberry mark" or "birthmark"
as they are most commonly known
and was on her sweet cute face.
It was a large strawberry mark, raised
and red,  on her right side of her cheek.
And unkind folk. When they came to gaze
and look at her daughter.
Would ask,  did her child get burnt?.
Or "what happened to your daughters face"?
Really nasty and unkind comments.
I just don't think, the public realize
how hurtful and mean they are towards
children and parents of someone who is a
little different from everyone else. That
makes them stand out a bit more
from everyone else.
Please think before you say something
wicked to a

caring parent who adores their child.

As your hurtful comments
really wound the parent deeply.
honestly. No need for it!
Put yourself inside their shoes.
And see how you would like it

if it was the other way around!

I would like to have a strawberry mark in my body
reminding me that I'm beautiful
providing me with good scent when i'm in a dark place
I would like to put myself in her shoes
she's beautiful, that's how I picture her
I would like to be beautiful... like the girl with the strawberry mark
