Betty

Betty

A Poem by Onlyme

She was dainty in stature
and old and frail.

Her name was Betty.
And every day she
made sure she went
out to get a few bits
in her trolley food wise.

She lived alone.
And was seriously proud
and smart to boot.

Her husband passed a few years
ago. Of a heart attack.
And her children flew the
nest a long time past.

They come and visit her
on regular visits. And one
of her daughters lives locally.
And checks on her daily with
a phone call.

She is independent and does
not like people to fuss over her.

Betty is a real trooper.
A fighter and character.

The type of lady you would love
on sight.
