Reality of The Killer Cancer... Needing To Fight Back...

Reality of The Killer Cancer... Needing To Fight Back...

A Poem by Onlyme

Can you imagine being strapped to a bed
and wearing a mask covering your face
and shoulders? And having Radiotherapy
done to you for weeks Monday to Friday.

Or taking medication and pills. On top.

Then all the check-ups, blood tests,
chats and so forthwith.
To see how you are coping and dealing
with things in general.

And not knowing if you're coming or going.
Been or went.

But trying  so hard to keep upbeat
and positive about all.

When really you are scared witless.
And in a whirl.

And your life revolves around the hospital
visits and appointments.
Let alone the side effects of treatments.

Yes, this is a harsh reality of life and living.

But sadly it happens to so many people in this world.

Who only via the help of their family and
close friends. Have someone to talk to
and help support them in their time of need.

The taboo of cancer and it's treats to help cure
it. Hopefully needs to be spoken about more and
researched more.

As it affects anyone, anytime, any age
it just does not care who you are
rich or poor.

Your not immune...

Thank God for the dedicated staff
from the Doctors and nurses and researchers
and so forthwith. Who without their daily
dedication. We would be lost.

I have known a few people that have had cancer (some have passed) and the common thing that I see is that those who are getting chemotherapy are drained. Physically, mentally, spiritually they are just tired. Some would rather die then just feel that way. Thank God for all those who help cancer patients. Cancer affects everyone, not just the patient. You portrayed that excellently
