Paper aeroplane.

All they had was paper cups and

plenty of writing paper.

But he was a happy little soul.

This paper aeroplane, Was from

someone who

made it for him to play with.

As he remembers the joy

it gave him.

As he was so scared and lonely.

And in a strange environment

with his young mum.

They came from abroad to get

away from their war-torn country.

And landed in Britain.

And after questions upon questions.

And being interviewed and such like.

Finally, they were placed somewhere

short-term to call home.

He was lost confused and bewildered as

to what was going on.

And then this lady gave him this paper

aeroplane. That he kept over the years.

And once they got settled and permanent

statues in the country.

This plane was a reminder of the reassurance

he felt even at such a young age that everything

would be okay for both him and his mum.

So corny but so true.
