The Innocences of a Child

The Innocences of a Child

A Poem by Onlyme

The innocence of a child
how beautiful that is.

Their carefree attitude
and go get a style of ways.

Happy, joyous bliss-filled
moments of laughter and fun.

As well as times of crying and
rubbing and kissing a sore knee
from hence when they fell.

Reading them a story a nighttime
in bed. And watching them drift
off to sleep. Happy and content.

Their tiny hand inside yours as you
watch them grow and gain more
confidence and start to spread
their wings and become more
independent they mature and
get older and eventually leave the
nest.

But to you will always love them dearly.
And keep them close at heart.
And smile fondly when you think of them
or talk about them to a close friend.
How proud you are of your son or daughter
or both.
