Invisable People... Our future.. with closed eyes. People turn away

Invisable People... Our future.. with closed eyes. People turn away

A Poem by Onlyme

She sat huddled up on the sidewalk
her hands were dirty and her face
need a clean and her hair was
covered in a dirty woollen hat.

He skirt was worn and had a hole in it
at the hem. And her jacket was ripped.

She was about 18years of age.

She was homeless of course.

Sitting In One of the largest City Centers
In England.

Alone, scared and afraid.

Everyone just walked past her.

To busy with their own needs
and own life to care or even to
notice her at all.

She was invisible to them all.

Except for me.

I walked over. And said Hello.

Told her my name. And she was Katie.

Her stepfather was a b*****d basically
beat her up. As she was not earning her
keep at home. And her mother couldn't
stand up to him. As he earned the money
to pay the bills. So she left.

Now on the streets. Fending for herself.
With no one else to turn to.

This was her life now.

I gave her what I could to help her.

In this day and age, this should not be
happening to anyone.

More so youngsters. They are the future.

What future. If you can not even have a
roof over your head and a safe place to live
and food in the stomach.

A sad reality of life. Nowadays...
