City LifeA Poem by OnlymeCity Life The streets are dirty and uncleaned. Cars wissing past here and there. People jaywalking across the roads. Window cleaners sprucing up big shop window fronts. Toots of horns. And angry people arguing behind me In cars. Lorry driver thundering past. Loads of taxis private and black cabs here and their. Children with families laughing and joking as they walk on by with one child in a pram. You hear the wheels click on past. Ticket toot out trying to punt his wares. For some show on locally nearly. To fill the seats. Flash cars with wags inside. Oh, the local football players. Going to the new restaurant they opened in town at £200 a head. Some guy curled up in a doorway in a sleeping bag. Getting ready to go to sleep for the night. Pigeons eating dropped food from McDonalds and Subways people have littered the pavement with. Instead of putting the wrappers in a rubbish bin. Young folk on bicycles going back and forth from Uni. In the bike lanes beside the road. Airplane flying over head. From the local big Airport. Some lucky souls on their holidays. Going to a nice sunny place abroad. For me. Hopping on a local bus. Get off at the nearest local park. And a nice gentle stroll around the park. Then a nice quiet sit down on a park bench. To watch the birds and squirrels and meditate for awhile. Then head back into the hustle and bustle of city life onces again.
