Old Charlie & Alice.

Old Charlie goes out every day after

9.30am so he can use his free pass

on the bus.

Goes to the nearest bookies.

Places a few bets on 2 horses

and 2 dogs for the day.

Win or lose that is his routine.

Alice his wife. Cleans the house all

day. Goes shopping. At 5 pm

Charlie comes home. Dinner on a table.

Then afterwards. Both do dishes and clean

up. Charlie makes cups of tea

and brings biscuits in.

In front of a television. For the night the

pair.

Weekends. Local pub. Saturday night.

Bingo and a few pints. And  a vodka and

coca for Alice his wife.

Sunday. Church. Then Sunday dinner with

all the trimmings. Meat, vegetables and

gravy roast potatoes.

The typical life of an old couple with

no kids or grandkids.

On my. That is so different from my household which is full of grandchildren and their friends. We have to escape for a bit of peace and quiet. The thought of cleaning the house all day, I think I'd shoot myself. There would be more excitement living in an old people's home. Thank you Dawn for making me appreciate what I've got. It may be hard work but it is rewarding.

a rather sad poem, makes me think & wonder if there are many people who live like this. maybe poor people.

charlie & alice need more excitement in their life - just to keep their blood circulating with more fervour !!

however, people do a have a choice in the lifestyle they choose for themselves.

some people love routine and doing anything different can cause a lot of unrest. It's too bad though because there is just so much more to life that can be enjoyed. :)
