your poems are blended into heart-felt stories..In hindu mythology, from Mahabharata, Kunti was the mother who gave a birth to her son Karna but she had to flow him in river because of the fear of society...because it happened before marriage..later in the epic, Karna fight with other children of Kunti..sorry for telling this story but it came first to my mind reading your words.
Awesome Dawn..Stay awesome :)

That is exactly how it was back in the 50's/60's and 70's. Thank goodness we are a more understanding and compassionate society today. A girl in my year at school, got pregnant at a party we attended. She was shipped up to Scotland to stay with family until the birth. She then returned to school, and nobody dared to utter a word to her. So taboo was it then, and now I think of the misery she endured and the pain of giving up her child. There are some things that do change for the better and I'm pleased that attitudes today are not as ignorant and uncaring. Did you ever see the film Philomena? Similar circumstances. So sad. Great write Dawn.
