i feel you...and, Dawn, i have to smile a bit because i can relate to this so well...i am a forgiven man according to the teachings of Jesus Christ and when i started to try and make better decisions, change negative behavior etc. i recall all kinds of things i felt "put through" for no apparent reason .. and i would pray .. struggle to understand ... pray some more ... talk it out with friends ... pray ... well.. you get the picture .. and the pressure and stress was unrelenting .. i would come to those points of "i can take no more ... get me out of this oh Lord! ... and it was almost like the weight would be lifted .. and with that a small still voice (we have read about that right?!) that voice said .. "OK Gene! you had your hand on the door knob .. it was turning and the door would have opened for you ... and you would understand ..but you missed it by millimeters .. I took the weight ..and now we will start all over.... ready?" :))))))))))))))) we do get through things don't we ... we can "stand it" ... we have the courage and heart ... i guess the wisdom is finding that ;) love and peace Dawn!

the reason you are still here is because you know the alternative is final
you have a fighting spirit in you and that is your spirit, we all have it fight or flight so you are fighting for your life
keep fighting like i do every day xxx love your poem
You keep trying cause through all the s**t is a glimmer of something you crave. Of a happiness you haven't found yet, and that is what we are all running towards. Savor the small victories until you reach that what you seek. Otherwise all the negative thoughts will eat you alive.
Because that is what we do. We're given one go at this life lark and must therefore make the best fist possible of it, no matter what shite is thrown at us. At 40 years old my older brother had brain cancer, was as miserable as sin, " why me, it's unfair" falling constantly from his chops. That was until he went for chemo, there he found himself surrounded by kids with cancer, kids who hadn't even started living yet. After that humbling experience he realised that there are so many much worse off than him. Saying that, he's still a cantankerous, miserable old shite, but a 59 year old one.
Dear Dawn there are times when life is complete and absolute s**t. No other word could describe it better. Although these periods can be so very difficult to deal with, they rarely last. I hope you find some courage to help you through. Many will relate to the words in your poem. It has a universal feel about it.
Dawn - if I told you how many times I have considered ending the turmoil I felt in my life you wouldn't believe. But - here I am - I believe like you I'm a persistent son-of-a -gun! Somehow, if I spend enough time I still see the glass as half full instead of half empty. So again, like you - I keep trying.
Take care - Dave
