Cruel

Cruel

A Poem by Onlyme

Such a pitiful face.
So despondent and forlorn.

He is chained to a tree
in some
arsehole front yard.

Come hail or rain, summer
or fall.

You can see
he is all skin and bones
with open sores.
Makes me
angry and mad.

Or some little
defenseless kitten
Scurring across
some busy highway
or street.
All alone and unloved.

I sometimes wonder,
why people say they love animals.
And abandoned
them.
Or keep them
but do not actually
look after them properly
or even love them.

So many unwanted and unloved
animals in this world.

Nearly every day you
see. On the news someone
being cruel to some
innocent animals.

The amount of stray animals trying to survive in this world makes my heart weep.

I agree totally with you Karen, well said. hugs Dawn.
There's no excuse for, neglect of or cruelty to, God's animals.
A meaningful and very effective piece of work, Dawn.
