Is Sorry Just A word...

Is Sorry Just A word...

A Poem by Onlyme

Does "Sorry" really mean anything
or is it just a word.

Spoken out loud
to hit that spot of someone
you hurt.

Or do you actually mean it
genuinely
from the heart.

And when you project it out loud.
Do you mean it wholeheartedly
from within your own heart and soul.

And actually asking for forgiveness
or just casually saying it for effect
and to away with being an a*s.

I guess it depends on the situation. I have done both for sure but would like to think that much of the time I am sincere. It reminds me of an article I just read about how in Amsterdam, people are a lot more forthright in communicating there thoughts and opinions in a much more realistic way than Americans are. That Americans tend to whitewash with niceties that may not seem very sincere. Not sure why there would be such an apologetic tone, but from what I have seen it is true. And then I have some Canadian friends who use sorry a lot, but they always seem very sincere. Not trying to stereotype, just relaying observations that may or may not be true across the board. Very thought provoking!!!

I have noticed that when people are sorry, they actually suffer themselves first and then apologise. It makes them worth to say sorry. But nowadays, sorry comes out like anything. Liked your words.

Thankyou, Gaurav, I thinking like you said you have to suffer to be able to relate to why you are sa.. read more

Sometimes when we need a word to justify our act ...we need to use it...when we accept it as our mistake and then want the other person to understand that it was not intentional..... when said with feelings it does make a difference...but just to get over with it ....when using these words doesn't make sense....unless we mean it....
And it's always better to ask forgiveness if we have hurt the other person.... isn't it...
Hope you are keeping well...and staying strong...

Thankyou Ardra, I do agree. Iam not to bad thankyou for asking. Hope you are good too. hugs Dawn.
it is, unless sincere, which can be difficult to discern. actions speak louder than words. perhaps we think that can be bought too, freeing us of blame and guilt ...
