Toasting my tootsies.

Toasting my tootsies.

A Poem by Onlyme

Late winter
and am snuggled up
on the old comfortable sofa
that is large and so enjoyable
to spread my body all over.

I am wrapped up.
As snug as a bug.

And the crackling
of the open log fire
is roaring away nicely.

I am starting to
nod off to sleep.

I hear a little chirp
from the window pane
and see a cute
little robin
redbreast.
Peaking in at me.

I get up
and put my slippers on.

Getting some birdseed and
going out
to the deck and filling
stand up the birds and
and the little robin
comes to feed.

I watch him sing
and eat for a few minutes.

And then come indoors.

Before the open log fire.
I sit down on the wood floor
and take my slippers off
and toast my tootsies warm
again ...

As I catch out the corner of
my eye. Little robin flies back
to his nest.
