Putting yourself in someone elses shoes.

It must be hard in a dark place

to hold it together

more so

to keep wanting to

going forward.

It must be hard to smile

even when you want to cry

due to all the pressure you

are under.

The depression, anxiety of it all

is breaking you,

behind the fake smile

and mask

you wear

each new day.

It must be tough

knowing what is ahead

and the uncertainty

of it all looming is scary.

As each new day awakens

you are nervous even more

of all.

But try to hide it

as not

to upset me.

The old saying

"put yourself in someone

else shoes".

Really sums it up perfectly.

As the reality of dealing with something

so serious as cancer. Or some other life-threatening

illness really does put

everything into perspective. I can tell you.

As we all think. Nothing will affect us.

And we are all immune to everything.

But we are not.

We are but only human.

With thoughts and feelings

and needs.
