McDonalds.A Poem by OnlymeMcDonald's At the local McDee's Kids running around shouting and screaming. Mother with a baby in arms. "Shouting come here" Clayton & Ellie to the runaways. Teenagers in a group, around a crowded table. Chewing hamburgers and drinking coca cola via straws and mobile phones going ten to the dozen talking and texting out loud. An old couple with a coffee and a hamburger to keep out the cold. Sitting beside each other. Quitely eating. Bothering no one. And workmen in their cabs out front sitting in the peace and quiet. Enjoying their meals. In so-called private. Feeling the zen of harmony fill their driver side lungs. And the drive-through is like a race track. All the impatient drivers. Waiting annoyingly to get their turn at the window. To get their food order. And the young school levers. Making the food inside with that look of boredom and is this really my life now. And the sneaky odd worker. Going outside for a cigarette. Oh, the joys of McDees.
