Learning... lessons...

Loving someone is not always easy.

Yes, you read romance stories and everything is perfect
Roses and good things
White picket fences
No arguments
No upsets
No problems in an ideal world
Sadly, this is far from it.

Everyone wanted someone to love them.

Be kind, considerate, thoughtful, empathetic,

understanding and so on. Towards them.

And when it does not happen.
They get upset.

Truth is a relationship needs to be worked

on daily. Even in good times. More so bad times.

It's easy to run away. But to stay and talk.

and hopefully, fight for what you want together

is worth it.

Like Rome, it was not built in a day.

And a relationship is the same.

You constantly have to put new

foundations down to keep what you

have erect solid and secure.

I guess I learnt that today. Big time.

Crying over spilt milk.

Gets me nowhere or us.

Hopefully communicating and talking

does.

oh so sorry for your pain and loss Dee! i truly am :( clearly worded sound wisdom in your prose ... so relatable ... if we don't learn the lesson of commitment .. we continue to drift in and out of relationships ..dragged over the rocky bumps and coals until we simply give up .. or learn it ;}
every time that decision to "stay" is made .. love gets deeper and more satisfying, bringing peace and trust deeper into our hearts and spirits ...i honestly was just thinking this very thing .. and how i have come to appreciate those times when we just do not get along at all ... i went with my Norma to Walmart to do our grocery shopping ;} ... and we made it ... and on the way home reclaimed our smiles for one another :)))))))))))))))))))))))

Exactly Ardra, It's like now He does have throat Cancer. I still love and adore him and want him so. That has not changed. Life really is tragic and sad. But also wonderful and great twisted but true.
