Countrywalk

Countrywalk

A Poem by Onlyme

Walking hand in hand
through the woods
being at one with nature
hearing the bird and bees
crickets and  squirrels
around us
buzzing around
doing their thing

The smell of the trees
the moss and foliage
within our nostrils

snapping twigs and
the rustling of the leaves
beneath our steps

Looking skyward
and glimmers of
speckles of runways
shooting down
towards us
lightening up
our pathway
as we walk
and investigate
as we do us
Sunday walk
with little
dog in tow

sniffing and
running
jumping
and playing
with things
he has found
on his own
little adventure
out with us.

I see the bluebells
like a carpet on
the woodland floor
and smile to
myself and think
how happy
I am with me
and thee
and our little dog
Benji.

A wonderful poem shared Dee. Walk with little dog and nature. A Sunday walk. A place needed and never forgotten. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

These are just a few of the things I adore about living in the English countryside... having no neighbours also helps...... nicely penned Dee...... Neville

You bring the moment into full focus, to enjoy, to tread the natural pathways, to sight and see beauty all around us. You are a messanger of words...
