Compassion is a strange thing.....

Compassion is strange

Like a short time our phone rang

Answered to a nice friendly hello

and a warm voice that spoke.

Saying he was related to my man.

And heard from another family member

about my hubby being ill.

Out of sheer concern and true friendship

As they hung around when both were young

as real friends outwith being related

Time passes,  all grown up now and married with kids

of his own.

He rings to find out how he is doing.

And told me to take his number

and telling me.

to tell him so he

called back.

And would be phoning again real soon.

 Because he cares.

If he does not speak to him first.

What got me the most

was his

genuine heartfelt words

and

emotions so sincere

not just being nice for being nice sake

but honest to goodness decent kindness

and a true  caring way.

There are kindness and beauty in

this world still. Even a glimmer

of hope that shines. When you

least expect it.

That kind of act. Made me smile

and really cry.

As my man needs a male friend.

A moment of someone reaching out to another during dark times is a reminder of how good the world and people can be. It is so nice and personally rewarding when we unexpectedly find the goodness in others. To find that our sadness loss are being shared by others, sometimes others we didn't even know about.
